Symphonie de couleurs / Color Symphony

J'ai été victime, hier, d'une frénésie de production. Ça ne m'arrive pas souvent alors j'en profite quand cela arrive! J'ai toujours aimé les regroupements d'objets et ces cartes en sont la preuve. Un modèle très simple à réaliser avec l'ensemble d'estampes "Doodle That" du mini catalogue du printemps. Les papiers sont de la nouvelle série à motifs, qui seront disponibles dans le prochain catalogue de Stampin' Up!.








Les images ont été coloriées avec des crayons de bois Prismacolor et du Gamsol pour diluer la pigmentation de la couleur. J'ai utilisé les poinçons ovales et ronds (grandeur "Giga")de Marvy Uchida pour obtenir les formes. À chaque feston, j'ai percé un petit trou que j'ai surligné avec le crayon gel blanc Signo.














J'ai également utilisé le poinçon Fente horizontale pour les ouvertures de chaque côté de l'image dans lesquelles j'ai glissé un ruban. Les rubans d'organdi sont de source inconnue et sont assortis avec les couleurs de papiers. Les sentiments proviennent de l'ensemble Petits amis et sont estampés avec de l'encre Classic de couleurs qui coordonnent avec les papiers.





J'avoue que mon plus gros défi lorsqu'il s'agit de maintenir mon blog à jour est la prise de photo. Je suis sans cesse à la recherche de l'endroit qui m'offrira le meilleur éclairage... je me promène partout dans la maison, avec mon trépied sous le bras, en quête DU SPOT qui conviendra. Mon mari se gratte la tête mais se restreint bien de passer son commentaire,chose qui n'est pas facile pour lui!
















Yesterday, I was a happy victim of the "Production Bug". A nice virus, if you ask me. Especially when it doesn't come around all that often. I've always loved groupings of things. These four cards were made with the new patterned paper that will be featured in the new catalogue. Also used were the Doodle That and Little Mates stamp sets, oval and round Giga punches from Marvy Uchida, horizontal slot punch from SU, assorted organdy ribbons (source unknown), Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol, paper piercer and Signo white gel pen.






I've also used the EK Success curvy cutter to cut the oval in whisper white cardstock... not an easy thing to use. A very important step: use temporary adhesive to hold your paper unto your glass cutting board. You also have to hold everything firmly in place while cutting, i.e. paper, tracks and cutter. I found it to be a very intense operation.

Mes deux enfants sont doués pour les arts -- sans aucun doute. La photo à gauche fut prise par ma fille de 15 ans lors d'un voyage à New York. Cette photo m'impressionne de par son angle et son paysage. On dirait bien que le gratte-ciel vient percer les nuages. Encore plus impressionnant est le fait qu'elle n'a pas une bonne caméra. Elle veut poursuivre dans ce domaine et j'ai tellement hâte de voir ce qu'elle va nous produire avec de l'équipement de qualité. Mordue du dessin assisté par ordinateur, elle a également fait plusieurs portraits de ses ami(e)s que vous pouvez voir sur son espace de DeviantArt. Allez y jeter un coup d'oeil!

My two kids are very gifted when it comes to art. The photo on the left was taken by my 15-year-old daughter on a recent school trip to New York. This photo captured my attention. It really looks like the skyscraper wants to burst through the clouds. It is even more remarkable when you know that this picture was taken with a cheapie camera. I can't wait to see what she will do with good-quality equipment; she wants to be a photographer and I think she is on the right track. She also does a lot of digital drawing and has made a few portraits of her friends and even people whom she hasn't met yet. She gets requests all the time. Mon petit éventail / My Little Fan

Aujourd'hui, je vous offre ma dernière création qui a été composée avec les auto-collants "Peel-off's". Ceux-ci sont de la compagnie Magenta Syle. Si vous n'avez jamais utilisé ces petits joyaux, vous manquez quelque chose. Ces auto-collants imitent l'embossage à la chaleur. Il faut les manipuler avec dextérité, mis ils en valent l'effort. J'ai adhéré les gros paisleys sur du carton brun et les ai peinturé avec des "Twinkling H2O". Cette peinture vient dans de petits pots de vitre que l'on doit mélanger avec de l'eau (j'ai utilisé mon "Aqua Painter"). De minuscules morceaux de mica lui donne une belle irridescence. J'ai collé quelques petits paisleys sur vellum mais ne les ai pas peinturé. Par la suite, j'ai découpé tous mes morceaux et je les ai frisé à l'aide de ciseaux. Ensuite, j'ai posé un gros point de colle dimensionnel au milieu de mon papier et y ai adhéré tous mes morceaux. Une perle et un gland pour terminer le tout! (Ce que je ne vous ai pas dit c'est que cet éventail devait être une fleur... mais je n'y arrivais pas!) À plus tard!

Today, I bring you my latest creation with Peel-off's. The ones I used for this project come from Magenta Style. If you haven't tried those you are missing something. These outline stickers are a little bit tricky to use but they are worth the effort. They sort of imitate heat embossing. I stuck the bigger paisleys unto brown cardstock and colored them in with Twinkling H2O's. This is another favorite of mine. I can't get enough of that irridescent paint. The effect is quite nice. I adhered some smaller paisleys to vellum but left them unpainted. Then I cut all of the pieces out with scissors and curved them with scissors. Lastly, I put a big dimensional glue dot in the middle of my paper and arranged my paisleys around it. The tassel (handmade from SU's copper cord) and the pearl complete the fan. What I forgot to mentioned was the fact that this fan was supposed to be a flower. But I struggled with it a long time and I could never get the flower right. So I decided to be creative. I hope you like the result and I thank you for visiting!

Bonne fête, Maman!

My beautiful mother is such a sweetheart. Unfortunately, she is a victim of Alzheimer's.

She no longer remembers our names, but sometimes remember our faces.

She cannot walk for long, but often has a smile on her face.

She cannot form complete sentences, or words, but will caress my hair to offer comfort.

My family and I have learned to live every single moment with her to its fullest because there is no other way for us to survive this. She has always been full of love for us and I wanted to celebrate that motherly love. The album on the left is a "reminder" for her of her family and I know that she was grateful for it when I gave it to her for Mother's Day.


When I saw K & Co.'s K.Ology Peabody papers, I knew I had to have them. My mother's favorite colors have always been green and old rose. So I put this album together with 4 X 4 chipboard coasters. I have inked all of the small pieces, distressed the photos with an emery board and inked them as well. The result is an album sturdy enough for her to manipulate.




















The little book is bound with binder rings from Karen Foster and embellished with sheer ribbon (source unknown).

Here she is, at 21. What a beauty!























It was an emotional project to put together, but therapeutic at the same time. She cried when I gave it to her, but was smiling after having played with it for over an hour. She even surprised me by reading a few words! That was incredible!























These are pictures of myself with my two kids to remind her that she is also a grandmother. She liked these pictures the best. She is a sucker for babies... and big brown eyes.



















The chipboard album fits perfectly into a little purse, made with and 8 1/2" X 11 piece of cardstock, some ribbon and patterned paper. The sentiment on the front is from "Phrases flexibles de tous les jours".










And there she is, with me, holding on to her little book. She is in the 6th stage (of 7) of this dreadful disease and look at her! She is still smiling. She is 82 years old and this is her natural hair. I sport more grey in mine!

Une première pour moi!

Eh oui! C'est une première pour moi. J'ai rarement utilisé cette couleur: Prune Parfaite. Mais je l'adore toute de même. C'est ma fille Stéphanie qui fut l'inspiration pour cette carte. Ses couleurs préférées sont le pourpre et le noir. Alors voici la dernière carte que nous avons confectionnée durant le dernier atelier. Il s'agissait d'utiliser les poinçons de différentes façons et c'est ce que nous avons accompli en manipulant le poinçon Coin rond petit. En enlevant les guides-papier du poinçon il est possible de faire des festons tout le long d'un morceau de papier et c'est ce que nous avons fait avec le papier ligné de Chatterbox. J'adore l'effet. Le ruban est passé dans deux ouvertures créées avec le poinçon Fente horizontale. Les fleurs provenant de l'ensemble Big Blooms du mini-catalogue de printemps ont été estampées avec les encres Tellement saffran, Vert olive et Prune parfaite. Pour ce qui est des gerbes, j'ai coupées de fines lamelles dans le carton vert olive que j'ai par la suite enroulées autour d'un craybon pour les friser. Elles sont tout simplement collées avec un point de colle en dessus du ruban (source inconnue). Bon weekend! N'oubliez-pas votre chère maman :-)

A Little Purse

Here's another project we did during my workshop on punches. This time, I used the
Round Tab Punch to make the purse, the brackets and the photo corners! Other punches used: Large Oval (for the purse strap), 3/4" square (for the flap) and Double Circle (for the button/closure on the flap). I love the combination of Pretty in Pink, with Whisper White and Basic Black, but there was too much white space left so I decided to use the Linen background stamp to texturize the background. Of course, what would we do without our mat pack and paper piercer. It is such an easy way to add dimension. The purse and the pink square were done with the Petals & Paisleys Designer Series paper found in the Spring Mini Catalogue. The sentiment comes from "Phrases flexibles de tous les jours", the French version of Everyday Flexible Phrases. Enjoy!

J'aime les poinçons !

Je devrais dire: j'adooooooore les poinçons. Ces petits engins qui nous simplifient la vie. Lors d'un atelier récent, j'ai partagé avec certaines de mes clientes des trucs et astuces et nous avons fait 4 beaux projets. Pour le premier projet, je me suis grandement inspiré, lire presque copié, d'une carte que ma collègue Carolynn a fait (allez jeter un coup d'oeil à son blog). Cette carte est réalisée avec les poinçons fenêtre pour texte, cercle 1/2", étiquettes et carré 1 3/8". Les pétales ont été poinçonnées 6 fois; 3 fois dans du carton murmure blanc et 3 fois dans le papier de la série design "fleurs de printemps". La tige est poinçonnée avec le carré en l'insérant à 1/8" du rebord d'un carton mousse douce pour me donner une petite lisière. Les pétales proviennet du cercle 1/2" coupé en deux. Le pot est poinçonné avec le poinçon étiquettes dans du carton sable du sahara. Un rebords à été crée en pliant le bout carré de l'étiquette à 1/8" environ. Le sentiment provient de l'ensemble Jolis mots. Je tenais à ce que cette carte soit toute simple. Par contre, même après avoir aggrémenté le tout du papier Fleurs de printemps pour le fonds, je trouvais qu'il manquait quelque chose. J'ai sorti mon ensemble de planches de coupe et ai piqué des petits trous dans les coins supérieurs. Évidemment, on antique avec de l'encre marron simple. La fleur est soulevé d'un point de colle mousse.


Le sac dans lequel ils ont apporté tous leurs projets a été fait avec les poinçons Bouquet de printemps et étiquettes en utilisant les cartons belle banane, bleu caraïbe, rose royal et murmure blanc. Les fleurs sont aggrémentées de petites attaches parisiennes carrées et rondes blanches (marque inconnue) et les tiges sont faites de ruban gros-grain thym réel.

Profitez de la belle température... quant à moi de je dois m'enfermer pour travailler. A+

For a while now, I have been wanting to try my hand(s) at collage. In my opinion, it is not an easy art and one that I have trouble getting into, for fear of being really "sucky" at it. I thought I would drive the poor thing crazy with all my changes in colors, but I am so happy with the way it turned out. La belle petite giraffe

N'est-elle pas belle cette petite giraffe? Elle fait partie du jeu d'estampes "Bundle of Joy", un ensemble de 7 belles images qui se retrouve dans le mini-catalogue du printemps (disponible jusqu'au 30 juin seulement). Cette carte est un autre projet que nous avons confectionné lors d'un récent atelier. La couture zig-zag a été faite avec l'ensemble de planches de coupe et un perce-papier. Nous avons tout simplement piqué à tous les deux trous, en alternant sur deux lignes, et avons relié les points avec le stylo gel blanc Signo. La bordure entourée de la couture a été faite avec une autre étampe du jeu "Bundle of Joy" étampée avec l'encre bleu timide pour faire un effet ton-sur-ton. Les rebords du carton Tellement saffran et la bordure bleue ont été erraflés avec l'outil à rainures de la trousse de découpage pour donner un effet de tissu qui s'effrite aux coutures. La petite giraffe a été coloriée avec les encres et un crayon-estompe. Le sentiment "Bienvenue petit coeur" vient du jeu pour hôtesse "Rivetant". Nous y avons poinçonné le cercle extérieur et le milieu avec des poiçons ronds. Un petit projet à l'apparence douce et simple qui renferme quand même plusieurs techniques.

I yearn for a new camera...

... one that will let me take beautiful pictures of my projects. My zoom is totally shot on my cheapie HP camera. Anywhooooo, here's a cute little card I did for a workshop last weekend. The petals are done with the oval punch. I've raised the petals on the top layer for a curved effect. That was a simple and fun card to do. A little bit of paper piercing for a subtle effect in the corner. Smile - spring is here!

Non, je ne suis pas serveuse dans un bar, mais c'est ma dernière photo "alcoolisée". Voici les derniers projets de mon atelier sur les encres à base d'alcool. Maintenant, il s'agit d'un signet et d'un bougeoir. L'effet nacré du signet provient du "Mixatives" perlé de Ranger. Quant aux pétales de la fleur, elles ont été "coloriées" avec de la Pearl Ex. C'est un tout autre monde, la Pearl Ex. Pas facile, j'avoue. J'expérimente encore avec ce médium qui est très versatile. Merci de votre visite :-)

Thank Goodness for Alcohol ...

Nah, not the one you drink (although I could use a glass just about now), but the one you use on projects. Like the one you are seeing now. Here's another project we did last week. This time, the stamped image was done on a Stampbord "mini-bord" by Ampersand Art Supply that I got at Heather's Stamping Haven in Nepean. These "mini-bords" are great because they are thick but light and provides a surface that is almost non-porous. The images stamped on those are crisp. From what I understand, they can also be scratched to create details. If you look at the second picture you might see that the tile has been embossed with clear powder. It is too bad the picture doesn't show the full effect. It is quite nice. Also, I have mixed the colors and some Gold Mixative for a different effect. I am having so much fun with that technique... can you tell?! Take care!

Alors, voici le détail de ce projet. Tout d'abord, j'aimerais souligner que même si les encres à base d'alcool de Tim Holtz (Ranger) ont été utilisées, les ré-encreurs de SU et l'alcool à friction peuvent être employées pour reproduire cette technique. Il ne suffit que d'appliquer quelques gouttes d'encre Classic et un peu d'alcool sur un morceau de feutrine que l'on "agriffe" à un bloc de bois muni d'un velcro. Il est très important d'utiliser une surface non-poreuse, tel que le papier blanc miroitant de SU. Cette technique est également idéale sur de la vitre, du plastique, du métal. J'ai même fait l'essai sur un CD est l'effet est très bien. Ce projet, ainsi que deux autres que j'afficherai bientôt faisait partie d'un atelier que j'ai donné ce mois-ci. Je songe à le redonner. I just want to mention that even though Ranger's Adirondack Alcohol Inks have been used to complete this project, it could have been done just as easily with SU's re-inkers and rubbing alcohol. All you need to do is apply a few drops of ink and alcohol on a piece of felt that is "gripped" by a velcro glued to a wooden block. This technique will work on any non-porous surface like SU's glossy paper, glass, plastic, metal, etc. I have even tested it on a CD and it was quite fascinating. This card, along with thre other projects, were part of a workshop I gave at home during this month. If you want to experience this fascinating medium, just drop me a comment. Je suis revenue! - She`s baaaaack!

Le printemps, disons plutôt l'été, est arrivé à Montréal! Woohoo! J'ai savouré ma première tasse de thé de l'été dehors à me faire griller la couenne. Quel moment, si bref fut-il. Je l'ai apprécié

J'ai décidé de combiner mes deux blogs. Celles d'entre-vous qui avaient l'habitude de visiter mon blog Creations-CeeCee, veuillez prendre note qu'il ne sera plus mis-à-jour. Winter has finally decided to leave us and in its wake has left beautiful 20ºC temperature. Go figure! We went from -2ºC to 16ºC in a manner of 3 days.

With spring/summer comes a much-needed cleaning. I have decided to combine my two blogs. Therefore, those who visited my Creations-CeeCee blog, please note that it will not be updated anymore. Des photos du salon Brico-Expo

Il y a bien longtemps que je n'ai donné signe de vie... la maladie m'a retenu au lit pendant presque 2 semaines complètes. De plus, je suis en déménagement. Mon atelier au sous-sol n'est pas tout à fait prêt à recevoir mon ordi alors je "flotte" entre deux étages. Ce manque d'organisation est bien hors de mon contrôle et m'empêche de produire. Ceux qui me connaissent bien ne peuvent qu'imaginer l'enfer dans lequel je me trouve. Cette situation devrait se rétablir d'ici la fin du mois et je promets de vous pondre de beaux projets.
En attendant, voici des photos du kiosque que j'avais au salon Brico-Expo à Laval en début du mois. Étant donnée que je n'ai eu qu'une semaine et demie d'avis, je crois que le kiosque fut un succès. Je tiens à remercier de tout mon coeur mon amie Carolynn qui a contribué de façon remarquable au montage du kiosque et qui a donné de son précieux temps durant l'exposition. Un gros merci également à Mercede et à Shirley qui ont participé à cet évènement.
À celles d'entre-vous qui m'ont rencontré au salon et qui ont exprimé le désir d'acceuillir un atelier chez-elle, ou qui veulent connaître les opportunités de carrière offertes par Stampin' Up!, je promets de communiquer avec vous cette semaine. J'ai bien hâte de partager le plaisir!

It has been a while since I last posted here, but I have been sick with the flu and stomach flu for the past two weeks. I am getting better, but have not been very productive. Furthermore, I am in the midst of moving into my new workshop, but I am having trouble with my computer peripherals. So I am running between the 2nd floor and the basement. Needless to say that this lack of organization is driving me crazy; those who know me well will nod their head at this comment. Please be patient with me. I anticipate everything to get back to normal by the end of the month and promise to concoct new projects for you. Please be patient with me.

In the meantime, here are some photos I took of my booth at the Salon Brico-Expo that took place in Laval at the beginning of the month. Considering that I only had a week and a half to prepare the whole thing, I think it was a success. I would like to thank my friend Carolynn for her tremendous help in setting up the booth and giving a lot of her precious time during the salon. Also, a big thank you to Mercede and Shirley who participated in this event as well. Je me suis également amusée avec les étampes de l'ensemble "Office Accoutrement". Une belle conception graphique de Stampin' Up! J'adore.

Le printemps s'en vient... je le sens dans mon sang!

Aaaah, le printemps est dans l'air! J'ai le goût de couleurs saisonnières. Vive le bleu caraïbe et le safran et l'orange. Voici deux projets conçus pour un évènement spécial qui s'en vient. J'aurais aimé mettre du papier de soie dans la petite sacoche, mais le temps me manque.

Spring is in the air, I can feel it! Every spring, I crave beautiful bright colors. I love the Cool Caribbean, So Saffron and orange combo. Here are two projects that I put together for an upcoming event. I would have loved to have some kind of tissue paper in there, but I didn`t have the right shade.


Le patron de la sacoche provient du magazine Paper Crafts de l'an dernier. Je me suis servie du Simply Scrappin' Friends and Flowers qui est un cadeau d'hôtesse. L'étampe de fond est la roue Maxi Petals embossée avec de la poudre d'embossage claire. J'ai ajoûté des piqûres et un embellissement en laiton ancien dans lequel j'ai embossé le mot "Pour toi" de l'ensemble Petits amis.

The pattern for this little purse comes from a back issue of Paper Crafts. I used the Friends & Flowers Simply Scrappin' kit, which is a beautiful level 1 hotess gift. The background stamping on the cardstock was done with the Petals jumbo wheel in embossing ink, then embossed with clear for a tone-on-tone effect. I've added some paper piercing and embellised with self-adhesive die-cuts from the kit and a piece of the Hodgepodge Hardware in antique brass. The word "Pour toi" comes from the French version of the Mini Mates stamp set.


La boîte à lunch en métal est recouverte avec des papiers et embellissements du Simply Scrappin' Friends & Flowers également. J'ai étampé le milieu de la fleur avec Polka Dots & Petals en pépite de chocolat, mais je trouvais l'effet un peu trop estompé. Donc, j'ai sorti mon encre Versamark et à l'aide du Stamp-a-ma-jig, j'ai ré-étampé le même dessin et embossé avec la poudre givre irisé. Le sentiment provient de l'ensemble Polka Dots and Paisley. Il manquant encore quelque chose, donc j'ai sorti mon bon vieux stylo gel blanc pour y picoter des gerbes. J'en suis très fière. J'espère que vous aimez également! ET... vous avez un petit aperçu de mon nouvel atelier puisque ce sont les murs et le comptoir qui sert de fond de toile à mes photos. Mes murs sont oranges et le comptoir est en imitation d'acier inoxydable.

The tin lunch box was also covered with the papers from the same Simply Scrappin' kit. The die-cut flower (also from the kit) was stamped with a Polka Dots & Petals stamp in Chocolate Chip Classic Ink, but I thought it looked rather dull. So I decided to spice it up a bit by re-stamping over the image with Versamark using the Stamp-a-ma-jig, and embossing it with Irridescent Ice powder. The sentiment comes from Polka Dots & Paisley. When I woke up this morning, I look at it again and realized that I was missing something, so I added some swirls with my trusty white Signon pen. I really like it. I hope you like it too!

Oh! And you're also getting a first glimpse at my new studio. In the background, you see the colors of the walls and the countertop is imitation stainless steel.

C'est comme du bonbon!

Le dernier projet de mon atelier de vendredi dernier... la carte-bonbons. Une belle carte à offrir aux scrapbookeuses ou à celles qui font des cartes de souhaits. Il s'agit tout simplement de coller des petites étiquettes sur un papier ciré à l'aide de points de colle.

This is the last project we did at last Friday`s workshop. It is a candy card. The ideal card/gift to offer to any scrapbooker or cardmaker. It consists of adhering little tags to a piece of waxed paper with glue dots.

On peinture à Pâques!

Voici un autre projet que j'ai fait lors de mon atelier de vendredi dernier. Un tout petit pot de peinture (vide évidemment!) que nous avons décoré avec des papiers à motifs de la trousse Simply Scrappin' Just Delightful de la promo Sell-a-bration (en vigueur jusqu'au 26 février). L'image du centre, poinçonnée avec le poinçoncarré de 1 3/8", est estampée avec le jeu Festive Four, coloriée avec les encres Classic à peu près améthyste, rose royal, certainement céleri et belle banane. J'ai poinçonné un carré festonné dans un carton rose royal qui est agrémenté de piqûres faites à l'aide d'un perce-papier et de la trousse de coupe. Sur le dessus, j'ai poinçonné un cercle de 2" et décoré avec des fleurs poinçonnées avec les poinçons bouquet de printemps et marguerite dans des cartons belle banane, bleu timide et certainement céleri, et une petite étiquette estampée avec l'ensemble À la douzaine en rose royal sur du carton murmure blanc. J'ai passé un ruban en organdi vert lime dans le trou de l'étiquette que j'ai poinçonnée avec le poinçon fente horizontale. Chaque participante a reçu un sac en cellophane rempli d'oeufs en chocolat Hershey que j'ai fermé à l'aide d'un ruban et une petite étiquette de l'ensemble M'étiquettes-tu? Elles ont emporté leurs chocolats dans le pot de peinture... à moins qu'elles ne les aient mangé en cours de route! Elles ont bien adoré!

Here is another projet that we did at last Friday's workshop. It's a little paint can that we covered with patterned papers from the Just Delightful Simply Scrappin' kit offered with the Sell-a-bration promo (effective until Feb. 26th). The image in the middle was stamped with the Festive Four stamp set in Basic Black, colored with the blender pens and Classic inks in Almost Amethyst, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, and Barely Banana, and punched with the 1 3/8" square punch. I layered the image with a scalopped square punched out of Regal Rose cardstock that I pierced with the paper piercer and the mat pack. The top is decorated with a Regal Rose circle and flowers punched out of Barely Banana, Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery CS with the Spring Bouquet Flower and Daisy punches. There is a little tag attached to the top with an organza ribbon. I stamped an image from the Tagger's Dozen in Regal Rose on the Whisper White tag and attached it to the cover with an organza ribbon. The hole in the tag was punched with the horizontal slot punch. I gave each participant a cellophane bag filled with Hershey's chocolate eggs and closed the bag with a ribbon and another tag, this one stamped from the Tags So Much hostess set. They absolutely loved it! The can was intended as a "storage" unit for the bag of chocolate eggs, but I kinda have the feeling that the eggs never made it to their home...

Inspirée par la beauté

Je n'ai pas l'habitude de faire une page 12 X 12 dans mes ateliers de SU. Mais ceci m'a été demandé par mon hôtesse de vendredi dernier. Et tout compte fait, je crois que c'est plus facile de monter une 12 X 12 qu'une 8 X 8; beaucoup plus de flexibilité avec un terrain de jeu plus grand!

J'ai utilisé la technique du "baiser" pour donner une texture à la fleur qui est estampée avec le Big Blossom. La texture a été faite avec le petits points de l'ensemble Petits points et cachemire(en vedette dans le prochain mini du printemps que vous allez adorer!). Pour ce qui est des papiers à motifs et accents, il s'agit de la trousse Simply Scrappin' Friends & Flowers qui est un cadeau d'hôtesse. (Pour conserver l'anonymat de la personne photographiée, je ne mentionnerai pas son nom.)

I don't normally demo a 12 X 12 layout, but this was a request from my hostess of last Friday. When all is said and done, I think this is an easier solution to the 8 X 8; it gives you more flexibility due to a bigger work area. I love it!

I used the kissing technique to texture the Big Blossom flower, then cut around it leaving a little white border. The flower was textured with the dots from the Polka Dots and Paisleys stamp set from the upcoming Spring Mini Catalogue (which is fantastic by the way!). The papers and accents all come from the Simply Scrappin' Friends and Flowers - a hotess gift. (I am not giving credit to the picture of my layout so as not to reveal the person's identity.)

Pearl Ex

Il y a longtemps que je voulais expérimenter avec le PearlEx. Une de mes hôtesses m'a demandé de présenter un projet lors de son atelier. Je trouve que la méthode la plus facile et rapide, spécialement lors d'un atelier à 14 participantes, est de mélanger la PearlEx avec de la poudre à gaufrage transparente. L'effet de luminosité ne paraît pas trop sur cette photo, mais c'est vraiment joli en réel.

I have been wanting to experiment with PearlEx for a while. So when one of my hostesses asked me to present a project using PearlEx for her workshop, I jumped at the chance. I have found that the easiest and fastest way to use it, especially for a large group of 14, is to mix it with clear embossing powder. The shimmery effect cannot be seen very well on this photo, but it is very pretty.

Voilà la page 8 X 8 que nous avons fait dans un récent atelier. En ce jour de St-Valentin, je crois que c'est à propos de penser à son mariage... il y a déjà presque 20 ans! Je crois que l'agencement de papiers Enchanté se prête vraiment bien à un thème romantique.

Here's an 8 X 8 layout that we did at a recent workshop. On Valentine's day, what better time to reminisce about your wedding day... for me, it happened almost 20 years ago! I love the colors and patterns of the Enchanté designer papers. Very appropriate for a romantic theme.

La fleur qui a du "punch"

J'adore les poinçons de SU. Ils sont tellement polyvalents. Voici une carte que j'ai crée pour l'atelier de vendredi dernier. J'ai utilisé le grand poinçon ovale pour faire la fleur. La petite coccinelle est recouverte de "crystal effects" pour un effet luisant... dommage que la photo ne le montre pas bien.

I love SU's punches. They are so multi-purpose. Here's a card we made during my workshop last Friday. I used the large oval punch to create the flower. The lady bug is covered with "Crystal Effects" but the picture doesn't show it too well.

Eh bien! Ouf, quelles semaines je viens de passer. Les contrats de traduction ne manquent pas. Ce qui ne me laisse pas beaucoup de temps pour créer/bloguer. Mais bref! Ainsi va la vie!

Boy, the last couple of weeks have been very intense for me. The translation contracts are a-plenty. This does not leave me much time for creating/blogging. But, that's life!

Voici un petit cadeau que j'ai donné à toutes mes participants à un atelier vendredi dernier. En tout il y avait 14 participantes et 5 de leurs enfants. Je tiens à remercier du fond du coeur Geneviève qui s'est portée volontaire pour m'aider lors de cette soirée. Pour ne pas faire d'analogie, ce fut long et bon... hmmm.

Here's a little something I gave to all the participants to a workshop I did last Friday. In total 14 participants and 5 children attended. And thanks to Geneviève who volunteered to help me out, everything went smoothly. It was long, but successful.

J'ai copiée l'idée de cette petite sacoche de Brenda Quintana . Elle renferme un petit chocolat "Nuggets" et est très mignonne. La seule exception est que je n'ai pas utilisé le poinçon étiquette, mais bien le poinçon coin d'étiquette (qui n'est pas du tout la même chose). Les invités ont toutes été emballées. Je les ai mises dans une belle boîte rouge que j'ai remise à mon hôtesse pour qu'elle les distribue. Elles avaient l'air de petits soldats toutes cordées. Marie a vraiment bien joué son rôle en faisant "dandiner" ses invités pour qu'elles devinent ce qui se trouvait dans la boîte. Une très belle soirée! Merci Marie.

I totally CASEd this Nugget purse from Brenda Quintana with one exception. I didn't use the tag punch but the corner tag punch, which is different. The participants were really happy with their little surprise. I had lined them all up, like little soldiers, in a red box wrapped with a bow. I gave the box to my hostess to give to her guests. She played her role very well, teasing them by having them guess what was inside. Thanks Marie. It was a lovely evening. Tomorrow, I will post 3 of the projects that we did. Juste une petite note...

Parfois, la simplicité a bien meilleur goût. Voici une petite note de remerciement pour une des membres de mon équipe, Geneviève. Geneviève est l'auteure de la coccinelle bleue que vous voyez sur cette carte. Je lui ai demandé de m'acheter quelques crayons Prismacolor. Elle me les a remis avec cette petite étiquette qu'elle a enrubannée autour de mes crayons. Charmante idée! Je devais absolument faire quelque chose. J'ai donc crée cette petite carte pour la remercier de son geste.

Simple, yet effective. My downline, Geneviève, ran an errand for me the other day. She bought me Prismacolor pencils I was missing. She delivered to me all bundled up with this cute little tag attached to them. I couldn't very well part with it so I decided to make her a thank-you note with it. Sometimes, the simplest gesture can bring sunshine to your life. That's what this neat little package did to me! Thank you, Geneviève.

L'imparfait...

Non, il ne s'agit du verbe à l'imparfait, mais bien du qualificatif que j'ai donné à cette carte. J'essaie d'adopter une nouvelle philosophie cette année: celle de vivre avec les imperfections. Le parfait n'existe pas, nous le savons tous bien. Mais nous essayons toujours d'y arriver, pour n'être que déçue lorsque ça ne marche pas à notre goût.

Eh bien, fini! Je tenais à vous montrer ma dernière création qui remonte à la semaine passée. J'ai tellement hésité et voici pourquoi: mon pauvre petit cochon rose se perd dans les fleurs. Ces fleurs ont été ajoûtées à la toute fin lorsque j'ai commis l'erreur de vouloir étamper un mot en dessous du cochon... après avoir tout collé! (à ne jamais faire les amies) Bref, je me retrouve avec une jungles de formes poinçonnées pour lesquelles je n'ai pas le contrôle sur la disposition. Il fallait absolument que je les colle ainsi pour masquer "ma gaffe"! J'étais tellement fière d'avoir réussie mon coloriage au Prismacolor et Gamsol (merci Geneviève!) et je voulais à tout prix l'utiliser. De plus, la ligne horizontale du sol sous mon cochon est trop parallèle au ruban... Les couleurs sont rose royal, rose rouge et blanc murmure. J'ai utilisé le poinçon coin rentré et du fil à broder pour encadrer mon petit cochon. Le milieu des fleurs est gribouillé avec le crayon blanc de Signo et le marqueur rose royal. Le ruban en organdi est rose pâle sur lequel repose un autre ruban en gingham noir. Le fond texturé a été fait avec mon dossier d'embossage "Bloom Dots" de Cuttlebug.

Les petites amies, ne tentez pas ceci à la maison. Cette cascade a été amochée par une professionnelle... hahaha! Mieux vaut en rire. :-)

"L'imparfait" in French means "imperfect" and that's exactly what I am trying to demonstrate here. I am not too happy with this card but I am trying to live with the imperfections. I was proud of myself for the fact that I had mastered the "Prismacolor/Gamsol" technique (thanks Geneviève!) and wanted to use my little pig. Everything was going well until I decided to add a sentiment underneath my stamped image... after I had glued everything! Folks, never do this! I missed and had to cover it up. I punched a whole bunch of flowers and leaves but I didn't have control over the placement of these items. The result: a pig that is lost in flowers. Furthermore, the horizon line under the pig is too parallel with the ribbon and that's not appealing to the eye.

The colors used are Whisper White, Regal Rose and Rose Red. I used the Notched Corner punch and pink embroidery floss as a frame around the pig. The ribbons are pink organza and black gingham and the background was embossed with my Bloom Dots folder from Cuttlebug. The middle of my flowers were doodled with the white Signo pen and a Regal Rose Stampin' Write.

Kids, do not try this at home. This stunt was executed by a professional. Might as well laugh it off, hehe!

Petits petits coeurs / Small Small Hearts

En voici une p'tite vite... cette petite carte en poche est idéale pour glisser dans une boîte de chocolat, un sac cadeau ou une boîte à lunch. J'aurais voulu prendre plus de photos, mais mon appareil ne coopérait pas aujoud'hui. Les papiers à motifs proviennent de la collection M'aime (affreuse traduction de la part de SU) et le ruban de la collection Coquet, tous deux en vedette dans le mini catalogue d'hiver. Je voulais utiliser le gros ruban gaufré mais la taille de la carte n'y était pas propice. L'image au milieu provient du jeu "Festive Four" et elle est éstampée avec l'encre Noir Simple et coloriée avec des crayons Prismacolor et du Gamsol. J'adore cette technique. Le petit coeur à droite est superposé d'un autre (j'ai tout simplement estampé une deuxième image, découpé le petit coeur et collé par dessus l'autre avec des points adhésifs en mousse) et j'y ai collé un crystal Swarowski que je me suis procuré à Ottawa lors d'une ballade. Tous les contours ont été antiqué avec de l'encre Presque cacao. J'ai également décoré l'enveloppe. Petit projet très vite à réaliser.

This pocket note is quick to put together and is ideal to slip into a box of chocolate, a gift bag or a lunch box. I would have liked to have taken a better picture of it but my camera is not cooperating today. I've used the Loves Me patterned papers and Flirty ribbon, both featured in the Winter Mini Catalogue. I wanted to use the crimped pink ribbon but it was too large for the size of my card. The stamp comes from the Festive Four set and was colored with Prismacolor and Gamsol. I am so loving this technique and am learning every day. The heart on the right is in 3-D ( I just stamped another image, cut it out and mounted it with foam adhesive) and has a little Swarowski crystal in the middle. Boîte décorative / Decorated Box

Lorsque je donne un atelier Stampin' Up!, je demande aux invités de remplir un coupon de participation à un tirage qui se fait à la fin de la soirée. J'utilise cette petite boîte pour y déposer les coupons. Elle est recouverte de papiers SU de la collection Fleurs de printemps. Le pourtour du dessus est recouvert de petites fleurs poinçonnées à l'aide du poinçon Bouquet de printemps. J'y ai ajouté du ruban et une étiquette du jeu Accélération d'activité. Simple comme tout!

When I give a workshop, I always have the guests fill out a ballot to win a door prize. This box is where I draw the names from. It is covered with SU's Spring Showers patterned paper. The edges on top are decorated with little flowers punched out of the Spring Bouquet punch. I added ribbon and a label from the Business Boosters stamp set. Quite simple, but effective!

J'ai besoin de soleil.../ I got sunshine...

Une journée maussade nous fait envier le soleil. Voici donc mon petit brin de soleil... quelque chose de mignon qui me rappele les journées chaudes de l'été. Ce sont des couleurs que je n'utilise pas souvent: Soleil d'été (carte), bleu brillant (pourtour) et belle banane (en relief grâce au dossier de gaufrage "Fleurs stylisées" de Cuttlebug). J'ai ajouté une touche de bleu brillant sur les fleurs du gaufrage avec les pastels. Les fleurs Prima sont embellies avec des attaches parisiennes de Autumn Leaves que j'ai depuis un bon bout de temps. Le sentiment provient du jeu "Amitié" et est étampé avec de l'encre blue brillant. Ce carton est antiqué avec de l'encre moutarde forte pour aller chercher le carton soleil d'été. Un petit noeud avec le ruban en organdi de couleur crème complète le tout. Bonne journée!

"I got sunshine... on a cloudy day..." That's what prompted me to put together this card that reminds me of a nice warm summer day. I've used colors that are not usually the ones I grab: Summer Sun for the card, Brilliant Blue for the mat and Barely Banana on which I have embossed with my "Stylized Flowers" folder from Cuttlebug (did I mention that I looooooooooooooove those folders?!). I went over the flowers on the embossed motif with Brilliant Blue pastel and mounted Prima flowers with brads from Autumn Leaves, which I had been saving for a quite a while. The sentiment is from the French version of the Simply Said stamp set and is stamped with Brilliant Blue on Barely Banana, inked with More Mustard. That little bit is mounted on foam adhesives. A knot out of cream organza ribbon adds the finishing touch. Have a great day!

Mon valentin au masculin / My Masculine Valentine

Ouf, il était temps que je mette à jour ce blog! Je pars la nouvelle année avec UNE résolution... celle de créer, créer, créer. C'est le mot de l'année pour moi. Il sera affiché en permanence, en grosses lettres, dans mon studio. Et sans plus tarder, voici ma toute dernière création: une carte de St-Valentin toute masculine. Je dois avouer que j'ai fait beaucoup de recyclage avec cette dernière. Le papier à motifs rouge et argent est dans mes "retailles" depuis plusieurs années et je trouve qu'il s'apparente très bien avec le classeur de gaufrage "tourbillon d'vin" de Cuttlebug. Ces classeurs de gaufrage sont génials! Le carton argent était déjà tapissé de papier vélin à l'intérieur. C'était une carte qui n'a jamais abouttie. Alors je l'ai tout simplement rabattue sur elle-même et passée dans ma machine Zip'eMate avec le classeur de gaufrage. Avec de la poudre argent, j'ai embossé les deux tulipes qui, à mon avis, peuvent aussi bien passer pour deux petits coeurs sur une tige. Cette image est du jeu "Good Things Grow". Le mot "Amour" provient de l'ensemble "Mots fantaisistes" et il est étampé avec de l'encre StazOn noire sur l'envers du carton à motifs rouge. Un coin a été poinçonné avec le poinçon "coin d'étiquette". Le tout est monté sur un carton "simplement noir" et est aggrémenté d'une attache parisienne argent en forme de coeur qui agit en guise de 3e coeur (les chiffres impairs, mes amies!). Pour compléter le scénario masculin, j'ai opté pour un ruban que ma maman avait dans son vieux panier à couture qu'elle m'a légué (merci, ma belle maman d'amour) où j'y ai fixé trois attaches parisiennes noires. J'adore le contraste du coton contre l'effet métallique des papiers. J'aurais pû choisir un ruban de satin noir brodé d'argent, mais je trouvais qu'il y avait trop d'effet "bling". Demain, ce sera une carte ensoleillée, avec le classeur de gaufrage "Fleurs stylisées"! A+

I am starting the New Year with a firm resolution to CREATE. It's my word for this year and it will be a permanent resident on my studio walls, in big bold letters. Because we tend to be "frilly girly" around Valentine's Day, I decided to make my first card a masculine one. It all started with the red and silver patterned cardstock that I had bought a few years ago (non SU). I think it goes perfectly with my new embossing folder from Cuttlebug (D'vine Swirl). I loooooove these folders! The silver cardstock is from a card that I had already cut and lined with patterned vellum, probably for some forgotten projet. I simply folded on side of it over the folder and ran the whole thing through my Zip'eMate. The image in the center is from the "Good Things Grow" stamp set and although they are probably tulips, I think they could easily be two hearts on stems. The whole thing is stamped with Versamark and embossed in silver. The word "amour" is from the French version of "Fancy Flexible Phrases" and is stamped in black StazOn. One corner of the design is punched with the Tag Corner punch and the whole thing is matted with Simply Black cardstock. A silver heart brad has been added in the corner to make a "third heart". A big fat white and black ribbon cuts the two papers and is adorned with 3 black brads. This ribbon comes from my dear mother's sewing basket that she passed on to me and I quite like it. I could have gone for the perfect black and silver shiny ribbon, but I thought the "cottony" feel of the ribbon would be better. Tomorrow, I will post something entirely different, using the "Stylized Flowers" embossing folder. Ceeya!
