Nous nous sommes réveillés ce matin au son des souffleuses à neige. Notre première bonne tempête nous est tombée dessus pendant la nuit. Mon mari et moi sommes allés pelleter pour pouvoir sortir ma voiture de l'entrée de garage (puisque c'est MON stock qui occupe l'une des places dans le garage... la Civic couche dehors et la voiture de Monsieur dort à l'intérieur :-)) Il y a plus d'un pied de neigne de tombé. Une bonne bordée! Les vents soufflents si fort que la neige s'accroche aux fenêtres. Voici une photo de la fenêtre de la cuisine. C'est beau, n'est-ce pas?We woke up this morning to the sound of snow plows. We've got our first big snowfall of the year. It was snowday for my daughter and she was real happy about that! Since the snowplow could only do half of our driveway because my car was in the way, hubby and I went out shoveling to get it out. You see, since my studio's "overstock" is in the 2nd spot of the garage, my little Civic sleeps outside while DH's car stays all nice and warm in the garage :-))) There's a little more than a foot of snow on the ground but the winds are a-blowin' so hard that it sticks to the window. Here's a photo of my kitchen window. Isn't it nice and cozy?
Sur un note un peu différente, voici la carte de fête que j'ai fait pour mon cher frère en fin de semaine. Celle-ci est une réplique puisque je n'ai pas eu le temps de photographier l'originale. Une carte masculine, ce n'est pas facile à faire pour moi! J'ai choisi la simplicité évidemment. Le carton de SU en bleu nuit est gaufré à sec avec le gabarit en laiton Seeing Spots. L'étiquette bonne fête provient du jeu "La Fête en folie" estampée en bleu nuit et les papiers sont de Hot Off the Press (Cardmaker's Earth's Palette Creative Pack). J'ai également utilisé les poinçons Étiquette design et Fente horizontale. Puisque le carton est très foncé, j'ai fait une plage pour écrire un sentiment à l'intérieur avec d'autre papier à motifs de HOTP ainsi qu'une fausse couture zigzag en bleu nuit. On a different note, here's a card I made for my bro's birthday this weekend. This is a replica as I didn't have time to take photos of the original one. It's hard for me to do a masculine card so I went for simple. The cardstock is Night of Navy and I've embossed the front with the Seeing Spots brass template, both from SU. The patterned paper is from Hot Off The Press (Cardmaker's Earth's Palette Creative Pack) and I've stamped the Happy Birthday in French from the La Fête en folie set (English version of Party Punch). The tag is punched out with the Designer Label and Horizontal Slot punches. Since the card base is very dark, I decided to create a space for journaling with more HOTP patterned paper and some faux stitiching in Night of Navy also.Happy birthday, dear brother. I love you! XXX
